    Clubs and Activities

There is so much to do at The College at Brockport, that students often find themselves saying “What's next?”  What new thing can I get involved in?  Should I discuss current events in Russian at the Foreign Language Club?  Argue the merits of string theory in Physics Club, sing in the chorus, write for the school newspaper?  With more than 60 clubs and organizations, you'll have a chance to explore your interests with students who are as passionate as you are. Besides the fun you'll have, clubs are a great way to learn outside the classroom and explore what you love in an informal setting. Participation in clubs also demonstrates motivation and leadership, which can help you later on a resume or a grad school application. And if you have a special interest to share, you can start your own club. So... what's next ... Clubs and Organizations

    Health Services

“Health is a condition of wisdom,” Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote. At the College at Brockport, it is also a condition of learning. We believe that health and physical fitness are essential to our students' overall performance. Our Student Health Center is committed to helping you stay healthy, so that you can pursue your education.

Our clinic cares for a wide variety of healthcare needs, from athletic injuries to allergies to the flu. We provide a variety of preventive and maintenance services, such as women's health exams and nutritional counseling. We even have a therapeutic massage program to help students recover from injuries and reduce stress. Whatever the issue is, big or small, we're here to listen. Your health and well-being are our priority, and of course, your confidentiality is guaranteed.

    Advocacy and Safety Services

You're studying late in the library, burning the midnight oil. You don't want to walk back to your residence hall in the dark. Not to worry — Brockport's College Escort Services will deliver you safely to your door. This is just one example of our commitment to keeping our college safe and crime-free. From a well-lit campus, to strategically placed emergency phones, to the ubiquitous presence of University Police, we take every possible measure to keep our students safe. Our 16 University Police have full powers of arrest and patrol the campus, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They also hold educational programs on a variety of topics, including personal safety awareness and security, rape awareness/sexual assertiveness training, operation ID and anti-theft programs. A little commonsense and a strong safety services program go a long way toward keeping you safe and sound.

    The Village of Brockport

After appearing at the Brockport Writers Forum, Pulitzer Prize winning poet Archibald MacLeish wrote “Brockport is a college town - a University College town - on the flat lands under the wind off Lake Ontario where the spring snow drifts. It is also a town where poets are ... "   A town for poets, and a town for students, Brockport was one of the first Erie Canal towns, settled in the early 1800's. Today, this tiny jewel is the quintessential college town, made for walking, filled with Victorian architecture, restaurants, a movie theater, and plenty of places for students to relax and kick back. Nearby, Erie Canal is perfect for biking, hiking, canoeing, picnicking, or just sitting peacefully with a book, a laptop, or a friend.

    City of Rochester

About 20 minutes from Brockport, the City of Rochester is big enough to have plenty of things to do, but small enough to get around easily. Rochester is the home of Eastman Kodak, and the George Eastman House Museum of Photography — one of the world's leading photography collections. Other claims to fame include the world-renowned Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Rochester International Jazz Festival, and the High Falls Film Festival. In May, the city shows off one of the world's largest lilac collections at the Lilac Festival. The city is filled with parks, gardens, cafes, restaurants, and clubs.  Students can go for a latte at Spot cafe, stroll down picturesque Park Avenue, take in a Red Wings game at Frontier Field, or spend a day of sun and sea on Lake Ontario.
