Football to Play Hartwick College in ECAC Northwest Bowl (11/17/2008)
Football prepares for the first ECAC game since 1993
Golden Eagles earn first postseason bid since 2003
The College at Brockport football team has earned a postseason bid and will play Hartwick College (7-2) at 1 pm, Saturday, November 22 in Oneonta, NY for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northwest Bowl game. Brockport (6-4) was one of five teams from New York to advance to ECAC games as Rensselaer will play Alfred University in the ECAC Northeast Bowl game and St. John Fisher College will travel to Maine to face Husson College in the ECAC North Atlantic Bowl contest.
The Golden Eagles have not faced Hartwick since the 1950 season. Brockport played Hartwick in its’ first-ever varsity football game in 1947 with Hartwick coming out on top with a 27-0 score. The following year, Hartwick scored a 30-0 win and in 1949 the two teams played to a scoreless tie. The first three games... read more »
