Considering Graduate Studies
Is it right for you?
One of the myths about graduate school is that it is like earning an undergraduate degree, only with more work.
In reality, graduate school prepares you for leadership in a chosen field. As an undergraduate, you soak up knowledge; as a graduate student, you create it. You are asked to contribute to your field, to innovate, and to lead.
Graduate school might be right for you if...
- You hope to go into a career that requires an advanced degree.
- You want to advance to the next level in your profession.
- You are driven, intellectually curious, passionate about your subject, and committed.
- You want to learn from professors who are leaders in their field.
- You love working on intensive research, writing, analyzing, teaching, and engaging in intellectual discussion.
- You want to specialize and narrow your focus in a field of study.
The best way to find out about graduate programs at The College at Brockport is to visit the campus for yourself and speak with our staff. A member of our staff can introduce you to students, professors and the program director for your filed of study. You can tour campus and see our research, performing arts facilities, and classrooms. If you live outside the western New York State area, consider attending a Recruitment Fair when our counselors visit other campuses throughout the mid-Atlantic region of the United States. The fall 2008 recruitment schedule will be posted to our web site soon so please check back. We also invite you to contact our office via email at gradadmit@brockport.edu.
