Brockport Ranked No. 93 ‘Best College For Your Money’ in the United States
MONEY Magazine ranked colleges by considering quality, affordability, and alumni success
BROCKPORT, NY—The College at Brockport, State University of New York, has been identified as one of the best values in American higher education. MONEY magazine ranks Brockport No. 93 out of 2,400 colleges nationwide on its list of “711 Best Colleges For Your Money.”
This ranking puts Brockport in the top four percent of colleges that MONEY examined.
MONEY ranked colleges based on 27 measures of educational quality, affordability, and alumni success. Its formula also utilized at least one “value-added” measure in each category that enabled it to reveal a school’s performance after subtracting the impact of its average student’s test scores and percentage of low-income students. MONEY says that this technique avoids simply rewarding schools for taking in students who’d likely succeed anywhere.
“We’re honored that yet another external organization has recognized the excellence that we offer at The College at Brockport,” said Brockport President Heidi Macpherson. “This ranking is particularly gratifying because it highlights the great learning environment we create for our students, the success of our alumni, and the outstanding value of a SUNY education.”
Princeton University tops the rankings, ahead of CUNY Bernard M Baruch College, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, University of California-Berkeley, UCLA and Stanford University.
