Mr. Christopher Albrecht Named 2018 New York Teacher of the Year

Albrecht is a fourth-grade teacher at Fred W. Hill Elementary School in Brockport and a School-Based Teacher Educator (SBTE) of teacher candidates in the Childhood Inclusive Education Program at the College.

Mr. Christopher Albrecht, a fourth-grade teacher at Fred W. Hill Elementary School in the Brockport Central School District and a School-Based Teacher Educator (SBTE) of teacher candidates in the Childhood Inclusive Education Program at the College, was named the 2018 New York Teacher of the Year.

Because of his dedication to teaching and continuous support to the teacher candidates in the Childhood Inclusive Education Program at the College, Mr. Albrecht received the 2017 Roy L. Bubb Award at the 37th Annual Teacher Certification Ceremony in May 2017 from the Department of Education and Human Development. Mr. Albrecht was also invited as the Keynote Speaker at the Student Teaching Conference Day on Aug. 28, 2017.

"Though these next years are going to be busy, I want to continue the incredible bonds I have been able to share with our classrooms and your college." Mr. Albrecht said. "I want to make it very clear that I will continue to make as much time as possible to continue to support the excellent program at The College at Brockport. This will remain a priority."
