Therapy Assistance Online (TAO)

We are excited to introduce Therapy Assistance Online (TAO)!  TAO is a platform of tools and educational modules to help students learn about and change how they think and feel. These materials can be used as “self-help”, with the guidance of a counselor during therapy, or as an adjunct to in-person counseling services.

Mission Statement

The Counseling Center provides services and programs, which enhance the quality of life for all members of The College at Brockport community. The Counseling Center promotes the personal development and psychological well-being of all students and fosters a College environment, which is conducive to growth. The Counseling Center’s professional services contribute to the comprehensive educational experiences of students by facilitating their intellectual, personal, and interpersonal development.

Cost of Services

Services are free of charge to all registered students, as part of the health fee. In some situations there may be a fee for specialized services (e.g. students involved in an on- or off-campus legal/court action).

Students that do not call to cancel a scheduled appointment with the psychiatrist by 4 pm the day before their appointment will be charged a $20 fee. The charge will be applied to the student bill. If three or more "no shows" or late cancellations occur, a decision will be made if we can continue to evaluate and/or treat the student. The decision may be made to refer the student to an outside provider for ongoing treatment. Students that feel there are special circumstances related to the missed appointment or late cancellation may request a review by completing the "No Show Waiver" form.

All clinical services offered by Counseling Center are confidential. This means that information about you will not be released to anyone without your written permission except in limited circumstances.
